My Way
“My Way” is one of Frank Sinatra’s most popular songs, and it may be partly due to the fact that Filipinos can’t get enough of it — especially during karaoke. Usually sung by one of your titos, probably after a few San Miguels.
Bebot
This classic by the Black Eyed Peas was the Filipino anthem many in the diaspora were waiting for. It’s usually performed by one of the younger members of the family, but everyone jumps in to yell “Filipino! Filipino! Filipino!” This is the one song that will get your Kuya to stop scrolling on Tinder and join in the karaoke fun.
A Whole New World
Beloved by Pinoys across the globe, "A Whole New World" is a must-sing duet at Filipino karaoke parties. Iconic Pinay superstar Lea Salonga was the singing voice of Jasmine in 1992's "Aladdin," giving the song Pinoy roots.
I Will Survive
Probably performed by one of the titas at the party. She’s most likely divorced or never married and is happy about it. The “I Will Survive” singer knows she doesn’t need a partner to thrive and is confident AF.
Tala
“Tala” is a fairly new song but one that has already become popular during karaoke. This is your younger cousin’s go-to, and it will almost certainly end up on their Instagram story.
I Will Always Love You
The Whitney Houston version, of course. This is the song that one of your relatives pushes their kid to sing, only to take over the mic halfway through.
Halik
Is a Filipino party complete without some Aegis?
My Heart Will Go On
It’s cheesy and overdone, but it still makes you tear up every time. "My Heart Will Go On" may be a love song, but it’s one that hits home for Filipinos since most of us have relatives living in another country that we rarely get to see.
Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang
An OPM must-sing. Whoever is singing this is probably serenading their spouse.
La Bamba
Never mind the fact that whoever is singing this probably only knows half the lyrics. It’s still fun, and everyone will join in the chorus.
Dancing Queen
Whether you're 17 or not, this song from ABBA will always be a hit at Filipino parties.
Total Eclipse of the Heart
Another favorite with the titas at the party, this song will have everyone joining in on the chorus.
Bohemian Rhapsody
You might have no idea what this song is about, but does it really matter? This song will have your Tito Boy doing his best Freddie Mercury impression.
Narda
This OPM hit from the 2000s is one that can be appreciated by all the generations at the party.
Ang Huling El Bimbo
This '90s throwback was a huge hit for Eraserheads and launched them to international fame. While your karaoke performance might not be quite as popular, it's still sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Don’t Stop Believin'
Even before Arnel Pineda took over as the lead singer of Journey, "Don't Stop Believin'" was a karaoke favorite among Filipinos. Now, though, we've got even more reason to love it.
Close To You
Why do birds suddenly apir? 'Nuff said.
Livin’ on a Prayer
Anything by Bon Jovi is a classic, but "Living' on a Prayer" is one of the best karaoke songs. Even people who don't know the whole song will recognize the memorable chorus. How can you not love it?
